In a delectable display of culinary triumph, Princess Cruises has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Pizza Party. The event, which took place across 16 ships in Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean, saw an impressive 11,445 pizza enthusiasts enjoying a slice of the action.
A Slice of History
The record-breaking pizza party was made possible through a collaboration with Tony Gemignani, the renowned 13-time World Pizza Champion. Known for his exceptional skills and multiple Guinness World Records, Gemignani contributed to the creation of this pizza extravaganza. The event featured a staggering 6,500 pounds of dough, 3,400 pounds of flour, 1,400 pounds of pepperoni, and 2,300 pounds of cheese. According to Chef Gemignani, achieving this record was “A Slice of Heaven.”
Chef Tony Gemignani: A Pizza Legend
Chef Tony Gemignani, celebrated for his mastery in pizza-making, brought his expertise to Princess Cruises. He created two exclusive pizzas for the cruise line, incorporating unique ingredients such as Soppressata sausage and hot honey. His recipes, along with three award-winning pizzas, were prepared by Princess’s culinary team, who received training from Gemignani himself.
Gemignani, who has received numerous accolades including four Guinness World Records titles, is celebrated for his contributions to the pizza world. His famous restaurant, Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, in San Francisco has been recognized by USA Today and the Travel Channel for its outstanding pizzas.
